Welsh mountain rescue volunteers call off search for missing Bridgend pensioner in Zante
A Welsh mountain rescue team who joined in the search for a missing Bridgend pensioner on the Greek island of Zante have "reluctantly" stood down their search.
73-year-old John Tossell went for a walk while on holiday in Zakynthos - also known as Zante - on 17 June and has not been seen since.
He is thought to have left for a walk to a monastery on Mount Skopos.
Greek authorities have been searching for John since his disappearance and the family set up a fundraising campaign in order to send out more volunteers to help.
Experts from the Beacons Mountain Rescue Team flew out to Zante after agreeing to be part of the search efforts.
The volunteers worked with the Greek authorities but after seven days, said they have "reluctantly" stood down.
They said John's whereabouts "remain unknown".
The investigations into John’s disappearance will continue with the Greek Authorities.
