Sarah Morgan is changing children's perceptions of scientists.

She runs sessions on nature and the environment in schools across Blaenau Gwent.

The lessons started after her son who has autism, was unable to take part in hands-on science activities.

Sarah wanted to create a learning experience that was tailored for children with additional needs and demand for the classes has been strong, so she’s developed them to suit everyone.

Sarah now juggles being a mum, studying for a PhD and her Eco-Explore Education sessions. She enjoys different children’s reactions to her school visits.

Sarah believes everyone should enjoy the mental health benefits of nature and understand their environmental responsibility.

As an inspiration to the next generation of scientists, Sarah has been shortlisted for a Womenspire Award in the Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
