Cardiff mum attends daughter's school prom in her memory
A mother whose daughter died from cancer was invited by the teenager's friends to celebrate what would have been her school prom.
Daisy Wyatt died two years ago at the age of 14 from a rare form of cancer called Ewing's Sarcoma.
Her mother, Sarah Griffiths, was asked by Daisy's school friends to attend the prom, alongside Daisy's little brother.
''I think she would have been a little bit embarrassed asking, 'Mam, what are you doing?' Sarah said.
''But I think she would be proud of everything I've done since she's gone and that's what keeps me going.''
Seeing Daisy's friends reaching milestones in their lives has been difficult for Sarah.
''Seeing all her friends leave school, the hype for their exams and how stressed they were. She would have been going through all of that and prom was what she looked forward to after school finished. Unfortunately it didn't happen for her.''
Daisy's friends were determined that her mother would go to the prom so they could celebrate the huge contribution Daisy made to their school life.
''It was a great moment for everyone involved'' one of her friend's said.
''We know that's what Daisy would have wanted so for her mum to be there with us, as she always is, was a special thing.''
Inviting Daisy's family to the school prom was a small tribute to her, butit meant a lot to those who loved her most.
