Flood-hit Conwy Valley line set to reopen next month
One of Britain’s most scenic rail lines, shut since Storm Gareth wreaked flood havoc in March, is to reopen next month.
The cost of repairing the Conwy Valley line which runs between Llandudno Junction and Blaenau Ffestiniog has not been revealed but it is expected to run into millions of pounds.
Network Rail say teams had been working to repair extensive damage. It will be reopened in time for the National Eisteddfod, which opens near Llanrwst at the beginning of August.
