The bright blue postbox is one of ten unveiled by the Royal Mail to honour the cricket tournament. Mark Street, Head of Campaigns at Royal Mail, said:

"We love the opportunity to celebrate Great British traditions, and what better occasion than the honour of being the host nation for the Cricket World Cup? We are delighted to honour this quintessentially British sport and important occasion on our iconic postboxes".

The postbox is located in the city centre on Queen Street. Paul Smith from the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019, said the postboxes will "help bring the tournament to life" in host cities.

Cardiff's cricket stadium had been a venue for the last two editions of the ICC Champions Trophy, as well as the ICC Cricket World Cup in 1999.

Home to Glamorgan County Cricket Club, the stadium held its first county game at the ground in 1967 before hosting an international fixture for the first time in 1999.
