Gavin & Stacey to return for one-off Christmas special

Hit sitcom Gavin & Stacey is returning for a one-off Christmas special.

The new episode, starring Mathew Horne and Joanna Page and created by Ruth Jones and James Corden, will be shown on BBC One this Christmas.

James Corden shared the news on Twitter that himself and Ruth Jones had co-wrote the Christmas special episode.

Fans have been expressing their excitement on social media with James' post getting thousands of retweets on Twitter.

The names 'Gavin' and 'Stacey' are the most talked about names in the UK this morning as they are both trending on Twitter after news of the release.
