New rail service between Wrexham and Liverpool launched

For the first time in over 40 years, a rail service will run direct from North Wales into Liverpool.

It's claimed the service will remove the need for 170,000 road journeys every year and will generate 250,000 new trips. Organiser hope it will provide a major economic boost to the area.

Trains between Wrexham and Liverpool will run Monday to Saturday, with two trains a day towards Liverpool and one towards Wrexham. .

Future plans will see more journeys into Wales, with some services running to Cardiff via Shrewsbury and to Llandudno.
