Road closures are in place as Cardiff goes car free in a bid to cut air pollution.

Last year, an estimated 10,000 people took part in the event.

A number of roads in the city centre will remain closed until 6pm:

  • A city centre-wide closure until 6pm.

  • Castle Street from the junction of Westgate Street through until North Road/Kingsway junction which will be closed until 8pm.

  • Civic Centre will be restricted with no parking until 6pm.

  • Station Terrace will be closed until 5pm but buses and residential access is available.

Andrew Gregory, Director of Planning, Transport and Environment said it is a way to become less dependent on car travel.

A variety of family-friendly, entertainment and activities are planned for Castle Street and North Road, these include sports activities, demonstrations, live music, dancing and a Bike Parade.
