Cefn Albion FC issued with FAW charges following investigation into alleged racism
The Football Association of Wales has issued charges to Cefn Albion Football Club following allegations of racist abuse and one accusation of an assault.
The charges come after an investigation of reported incidents at the semi-final of the FAW Trophy between Cefn Albion and STM Sports at Latham Park in Newtown on 16 March 2019.
Two of STM’s players, Hermon Yohanes and Lamin Conteh were allegedly targeted with racist comments from opposition supporters.
Cefn Albion Football Club has been charged with the following offences:
Disciplinary Offence for alleged racial or other discriminatory behaviour, conduct or language of its spectators.
Disciplinary Offence for the alleged failure of its spectator(s) to conduct themselves in an orderly fashion or failure to refrain from violence, threatening, abusive, obscene or provocative behaviour, conduct or language.
Disciplinary Offence for their spectators alleged encroachment on the pitch area during the FAW Trophy Semi-Final.
STM Sports Football Club has also been charged with the following offence:
Disciplinary Offence for the alleged failure if its spectator(s) to conduct themselves in an orderly fashion or failure to refrain from violence, threatening, abusive, obscene or provocative behaviour, conduct or language.
The two clubs have been given seven working days to respond to the FAW charges.
