Welsh legendary singer Sir Tom Jones has been named among the wealthiest British musicians in the latest Sunday Times Rich List.

With an estimated wealth of £165m, the Pontypridd-born star shares the rank of number 15 with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris.

Pop singer Ed Sheeran is on course to challenge Sir Paul McCartney as the wealthiest performer after the singer-songwriter doubled his wealth in the past year to stand £160m.

Originally born in a terraced house in Treforest, Pontypridd, Sir Tom has recently sold his LA Mansion for £6.2 million and moved back to the UK.

He is joined on the ‘2019 Sunday Times Rich List’ by his long-time friends in the music business Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney and Rod Stewart.
