Police warn of ecstasy-based drug Donkey Kong linked to death of Carson Price
Police have issued a warning of the dangers of an ecstasy-based drug called Donkey Kong - after a man was taken seriously ill in hospital.
It also comes following death of 13-year-old Carson Price. Police said the possibility Carson may have taken the same drug is one of their "main lines of enquiry".
The police said they have heard growing concerns from the local community in Caerphilly about this particular drug.
Superintendent Nick McLain from Gwent Police said, "Our advice to all members of the public who may currently have this drug in their possession, is to not take it. If you have already taken Donkey Kong or any other illegal drug and feel unwell, please seek medical help immediately.
“We want everyone to be aware of the devastating consequences that drugs can have and we’re especially asking all parents to speak to their children and to share our message.”
Carson Price was found unconscious in Ystrad Mynach park on Friday 12 April.
He was taken to the University Hospital of Wales where he later died.
A 14-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs.
Police are urging anyone with information about the supply of illegal drugs in Gwent to contact them on 101 or get in touch on the force's social media pages.
