Slimmer who lost 13 stone in a year backs call to ban takeaways near schools
Dean Woods has come a long way on his weight loss journey.
At the age of 29, he weighed 28 stone, and was warning by doctors he faced a host of health problems.
He says unhealthy food options in school and nearby meant bad eating habits started when he was young.
Within a year, he'd managed to lose 13 stone, and make big adjustments to his life.
Cancer Research UK wants changes to planning laws to stop new hot food takeaways opening near schools.
A survey commissioned by the charity said two thirds (63%) of people who expressed an opinion in Wales said they supported limiting the number of hot food takeaways near schools.
Dean now works as a full time slimming coach, and has also just become a father.
He wants young people to be better educated about making healthy choices.
The Welsh Government says it launched its 'Healthy Weight: Healthy Wales' consultation in January.
A final strategy will be published later in 2019.
