Countries around the world raise the flag for St David's Day

British embassies around the World have been marking St David's Day.

British Ambassador to Paraguay, Matthew Hedges, posted a video on Twitter reciting the national anthem.

Elsewhere the flag of Wales was raised to celebrate the patron saint.

Kyrgyzstan in Asia tweeted a picture of the flag raised against blue skies at the British Ambassador’s residence in Bishkek. They wished "Welsh friends and colleagues around the world a Happy St David’s Day".

Elsewhere, in Japan, the British Embassy flew the Welsh flag tweeting they were "celebrating Wales in Japan".

British Ambassador to the Philippines, Daniel Pruce, celebrated with a dramatic video of the Welsh flag blowing in the wind. The Embassy, based in the capital Manila, tweeted:

"We are proudly flying the Welsh drag at the Embassy to mark this special occasion".

Hong Kong wished followers a "Happy St David's Day wherever you are in the world!" from their embassy.

While the British Embassy in Malaysia flew the "Red Dragon for all those who hold Wales closely in their hearts".
