Child in hospital with serious injuries after Heads of Valleys crash

A child is in hospital with serious injuries following a two vehicle crash on the Heads of the Valleys road.

Police say an infant travelling in one of the vehicles involved has been taken to Prince Charles Hospital with serious injuries.

The crash happened on the A465 Heads of the Valleys road between Dowlais Top and the Galon Uchaf junction shortly before 10am on Sunday morning.

Police closed the road in both directions to allow for vehicle recovery.
