Boy charged with attempted murder following Eirias High School incident
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing incident at a school in Colwyn Bay.
The incident happened at Eirias High School on Monday.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was also charged with possession of a weapon in a school and in public places.
During a 14-minute hearing on Wednesday, magistrates at Llandudno remanded him in youth detention.
He did not enter a plea and no application was made for bail.
North Wales Police said one pupil was stabbed in the incident, who was later taken to hospital and has since been discharged.
Detective Chief Inspector Sion Williams said: “Thankfully incidents of this nature are extremely rare in North Wales and we are working with the school and partner agencies as part of the ongoing investigation.”
