Cardiff City face legal action over Sala transfer fee

It's understood Cardiff City is facing legal action over the £15m transfer fee for Emiliano Sala.

The money was due to be paid to French side FC Nantes for the striker, who went missing when his plane went down in the English Channel two weeks ago.

It's believed Cardiff City would prefer to wait for the results of the air accident investigation before talks over the fee continue.

Emiliano Sala was travelling in a light aircraft with pilot, David Ibbotson when it disappeared.

The plane had requested to descend before losing contact with Jersey air traffic control.

The missing aircraft was located in an underwater search off the coast of Guernsey on Sunday evening

Investigators confirmed video footage of the plane shows an occupant inside.

A spokesman from the Air Accident Investigation Branch said they are attempting to recover the body.
