Wales kicked off their Guinness Six Nations 2019 campaign in winning fashion tonight, with head coach Warren Gatland saying his team has "forgotten how to lose".

France dominated in the first forty minutes, with tries from number eight Louis Picamoles and Huget. Camille Lopez kept the scoreline ticking over for Les Bleus with a penalty and a drop-goal.

Warren Gatland's team went in at the break yet to make a score, trailing 16-0 at halftime.

Whatever was said during the break certainly did the trick. Wales came back out fighting.

Josh Adams broke through the French defence to put Tomos Williams in with the simplest of finishes. George North struck next, chasing down a kick most would leave.

The wing capitalised on the mistake of his opposite number, Huget, who failed to keep the ball under control on his own line.

Two Gareth Anscombe conversions and a Dan Biggar penalty pushed Wales ahead. But it was far from over as France took back the lead through a Camille Lopez penalty.

It was George North who sealed the win for Wales though. An interception from some risky French passes put the wing over once more. A win for Wales with the final score at 24 - 19.

Speaking after the game Wales head coach Gatland admitted "France were very good in the first half". He added: "We made too many errors and tried to play too much rugby".

"For me, the big difference between the two teams is that we've become a side that has probably forgotten how to lose and can dig deep like that."

"On the other hand, they are probably a team searching for some confidence, having not had a great run in the last seven or eight matches."

The win against France means Wales continue their unbeaten stretch. The last loss was to Ireland in the 2018 Six Nations.
