Reaction to Newport County's famous FA Cup win
Sky Bet League Two side Newport shocked Leicester City last night by dumping the Premier League side out of the FA Cup at Rodney Parade.
Padraig Amond's 85th-minute penalty fired Newport into the fourth round as 2-1 winners after Mark Albrighton was guilty of handball in the area.
The penalty came just three minutes after Rachid Ghezzal had levelled for Leicester, who had trailed since Newport's well-worked opener, which was headed in by Jamille Matt from Robbie Willmott's cross after just 10 minutes.
Leicester City are in 7th place in the Premier League and made 7 changes for their game with the south Welsh side, but they could not find their flow and the home side deserved the win.
Leicester City won the Premier League title in 2016, while Newport had not beaten a top flight side in the FA Cup since 1964.
Newport County will be in the 4th round draw of the FA Cup which takes place on Monday evening.
The winning goalscorer Padraig Amond enjoyed the moment.
There was a sell-out crowd at Rodney Parade.
Newport was trending across the UK on Twitter after the match.
The Exiles' players returned to their dressing room to celebrations and take-away fried chicken.
The magic of the FA Cup third round!
The Mayor of Newport, Councillor Malcolm Linton, wished the team luck for the next round.
