Is Wales home to the UK's tallest living Christmas tree?

As a Mid Wales lad I love going home all through the year but particularly at Christmas. And it's during this time the breathtaking scenery is slightly outshone by a giant tree adorned with lights which glows for miles.

Broneirion in Llandinam is the training centre and headquarters of Girlguiding Cymru and is once again laying claim to having the tallest living and lit Christmas tree in the UK.

The 140 feet high Wellingtonia, which is believed to have been planted almost 150 years ago, is so tall that it can been seen by drivers travelling along the A470 through Llandinam.

As you can see in the video I got a close up of the tremendous tree on a recent visit back home.
