Officials confirm death of two prisoners at HM Parc Prison in Bridgend
Two prisoners have died at the HM Parc Prison facility in Bridgend.
Officials confirmed the two inmates died in separate incidents at the Category B men's prison last week. One man died on Sunday 18 November after he was found unresponsive in his cell.
Previous reports have found "significant" levels of violence at the prison, run by security firm G4S. Earlier this month, a Freedom of Information request revealed Parc's Young Offender Institution recorded the highest rate of self-harm incidents out of five comparable institutions in England and Wales.
Director of the prison, Janet Wallsgrove said "an independent investigation" would be carried out into the two deaths.
