Two dogs have been successfully rescued from a 750ft ledge on Carnedd Dafydd in Snowdonia after getting stuck for several days.

The Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue team brought the animals to safety in a dramatic rescue after walkers on the opposite side of the valley spotted them. It's thought the dogs had been stuck for a number of days.

Initially the rescuers tried to tempt the animals down with dog food. Having failed to entice the animals, the team then attempted a technical rope rescue. One rescuer was lowered 50 metres to a lower ledge but had to abort after fears the dogs were too frightened.

The team member was hoisted back to the top ledge before being lowered for a second rescue attempt - this time with the dog's owner. Seeing their owner, the dogs were finally caught and raised up to safety.

Both owner and dog are happy to be back on low ground.
