A man from Llandudno has been killed after being swept out to sea in Sri Lanka
A 49-year old man from Llandudno has been killed after being dragged out to sea in Sri Lanka.
Andy Critchett was on holiday in the country with his wife, Lesley, when the accident occured. The 49-year old was swept out to sea by strong currents on a beach.
Mr Critchett was taken to hospital but was later pronounced dead. The couple had been in Sri Lanka for just over a week when the tragedy happened.
Describing her husband, Lesley Critchett said: "He was my best friend, my life and my world. I will never get over it." She said "Andy was the best husband, best father, stepfather and grandpa you could ask for [...] He would help anyone and was so loved."
A spokesman for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office said: " We are in contact with the authorities in Sri Lanka following the death of a British man, as well as the tour operator that is supporting his family."
