Egg-cellent achievement for Welsh egg producer

A Welshman has been named 'International Egg Person of the Year'.

Aled Griffiths OBE picked up the award for egg-ceptional individual contribution to the industry having been in the business for nearly 80 years.

The 88-year-old was given the award at a ceremony in Japan hosted by the International Egg Industry

Mr Griffiths started out in egg farming at just 10-years-old.

Aled Griffiths got cracking in the egg industry at just 10 years old, rearing chicks from his home in Penmaenmawr. Since then the business has become a family affair and now packs over one billion eggs each year.
