Car parking charges scrapped for all NHS hospitals in Wales

Car parking will now be free at all NHS hospitals across Wales.

It comes a decade after the Welsh Government first introduced the policy.

Under the previous system, charges varied widely across Wales.

It used to cost up to £10 a day to park at Wales' largest hospital, the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.

Two hospitals in Carmarthenshire, Glangwili and Prince Philip, were the last to have the charges.

People visiting hospitals will now need to get their tickets validated so car parking facilities are not abused.

There are also plans to improve public transport services to NHS hospitals in Wales.
