Pontins Prestatyn swimming pool closed by council following inspection

Denbighshire Council has said it is working with Pontins after complaints over standards at its Prestatyn holiday camp.

The swimming pool was closed after major issues were found during an inspection.

The council investigation was launched into Pontins after complaints about conditions at the holiday complex in Prestatyn.

There have been criticisms about 'terrible' standards at the Barkby avenue site over recent months - ranging from broken furniture to mouldy food.

Denbighshire Council's inspection also looked at communal toilet areas and chalets, but no hygiene or health and safety concerns were found.

The council explained the swimming pool was 'closed immediately'.

Pontins has said the swimming pool issue has been resolved and the pool will reopen tomorrow.
