Visitors urged to stop scattering ashes on Snowdon
Mourning families are being urged not to scatter their loved ones ashes on the summit of Snowdon.
Wales' highest peak attracts thousands of tourists all year round and the amount of ashes being scattered there is said to be damaging the ecosystem.
More than half a million people climb the mountain each year.
Scattering ashes on the summit or any other spot on the mountain is not illegal, but the park authority are warning that as an increasing number of people are doing it, it is damaging plants and flora.
They are asking people to find an alternative way to spread their loved one's ashes instead of on the mountain.
