Tourists urged to limit visits to Barafundle Bay to preserve its beauty
Tourists are being urged to think again about visiting one of Wales' most famous beaches in an effort to preserve its beauty.
Last year, more than 100,000 people made the journey to Barafundle Bay in Pembrokeshire. But the National Trust has warned that the high footfall is damaging the area and disturbing wildlife, and are encouraging holidaymakers to try out neighbouring beaches instead.
"Barafundle has become very, very busy and it's very difficult to have all of these visitors all at once", said Rhian Sula from the National Trust.
"Barafundle is a national nature reserve and so we really need to look after it and protect it. Please come and visit but also come and have a look at other beaches. Broad Haven South is fantastic!" she added.
