Man arrested at Gatwick Airport following incident of car being 'driven at speed' towards crowd

Police have arrested a 27-year-old man at Gatwick Airport following an incident in Whitchurch at the weekend.

The man, from Ely, is due to be brought back to Cardiff for questioning in relation to the incident on Merthyr Road on 30 June following reports of a car allegedly being driven at speed at a group of people.

As a result, a 34-year-old man suffered a serious leg injury.

Andy Niinemae was treated in hospital and is currently recovering at home.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who may have CCTV, dash cam or mobile phone footage to contact them.
