Former Wales rugby union captain Gareth Thomas wants indecent and homophobic chanting made illegal
Former Wales rugby union captain Gareth Thomas wants to make indecent and homophobic chanting illegal.
He is working with Damian Collins MP to launch a draft bill to amend the existing Football Offences Act (1991).
Although the act states that 'it is an offence to engage or take part in chanting of an indecent or racialist nature at a designated football match', there is no definition of what 'indecent' is.
They will launch the draft bill at the Houses of Parliament.
