Plans for second Bluestone resort announced

Plans for a £105 million resort in Anglesey have been unveiled by Bluestone National Park Resort.

A deal with property developer Land and Lakes will see a 500 lodges built on Holy Island by 2021 and outline planning permission has already been approved.

Bluestone, which runs an eco family resort within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, said its plans for another destination will have a positive impact on the region - and for Wales' tourism industry.

The regeneration of the historic Penrhos Estate is set to attract thousands of visitors to north Wales while also leading to more than 1,500 new jobs - 600 during construction and 900 operational staff.

The resort will also, an indoor water park, restaurants overlooking the coast, a wellness spa retreat and a water sports centre. It will also have a natural environment featuring nature trails, woodland walks and coastal path.

The company said it will be known as Bluestone Holy Island Resort Ynys Môn and will complement the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - with its meadows, woodland and glorious beaches reflecting Bluestone’s ‘free range’ ethos.
