The 27-year-old escaping the modern world for a remote island
A man has taken up the job as the new warden of Flat Holm - a remote island just south of Cardiff.
Leaving the modern world behind, 27-year-old Mat Brown has chosen to live on the island which has a radius of only six hundred metres, with basic amenities.
Sitting just South of the Welsh capital in the Bristol Channel, it is the most southerly point of Wales.
With the help of a few volunteers he'll monitor the wildlife, welcome tourists and repair the buildings which were left uninhabited all winter.
Additionally, he'll also act as landlord of the tiny pub and nurture the museum dedicated to Italian inventor Marconi - who in 1897 transmitted the first wireless signal over sea - from the island.
Mat says living on the island has allowed him to 'escape' the modern world:
