South Wales Police say their facial recognition technology wrongly matched more than 2,000 people with possible criminals at the Champions League Final in Cardiff last June.

Facial recognition cameras scan crowds looking for faces that match people on a police watchlist.

South Wales Police say no facial recognition system is 100% accurate and the accuracy of the system has continued to improve.

They say nobody has been arrested following an incorrect match.

Since its introduction nine months ago, more than 450 people have been arrested using the technology.

Successful convictions include six years in prison for robbery and four and a half years imprisonment for burglary.
