Cardiff City set for record-breaking crowd
Cardiff City are looking like they could break their record home attendance for a league game for the first time in over 40 years.
The highest recorded league attendance to a Cardiff City home fixture was in 1976, when the Bluebirds overcame Hereford in Division 3.
The attendance was reported to be in excess of 35,000 fans. Both Cardiff and Hereford were promoted that season.
The highest league attendance at the Cardiff City Stadium came in a win over Fulham in 2016 - the Bluebirds' first game back in blue since the rebrand.
The game against Hereford in 1976, however, remains the highest attendance for a league game in Wales.
With more than 27,500 tickets now sold for the game on Friday night, fans will be hoping second-place Cardiff can continue their unbeaten run after their last-gasp draw away to Sheffield United.
The match comes as manager Neil Warnock was awarded Sky Bet's Manager of the Month for the second month in a row.
On achieving the award, Warnock joked, "I said to the players when I won the award, 'I don't know how I've done it with you lot!' But I do love them, I think they're a great bunch of lads and they'll do anything for me".
