Visually-impaired bowler Julie Thomas is competing for Wales in the Commonwealth Games

Former headteacher Julie Thomas said she struggled after losing her sight 10 years ago.

Now she is competing for Team Wales in the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Australia.

She is a two-time Welsh champion at visually-impaired bowls.

Thomas said taking part in the sport helped her come to terms with losing her sight.
