Ex-rugby star Shane Williams has affray charge dropped

Ex-rugby star Shane Williams has been cleared over an alleged brawl with four nightclub bouncers.

The Former Wales and British Lions star was due to appear in court on Friday charged with affray, but prosecutors dropped the allegations against 40-year-old Williams, who was due in the dock with his brother Dean.

The former winger was arrested following a night out in Cardiff city centre in December.

The brothers were among six men accused of using or threatening unlawful violence towards another. The remaining four will now appear at Cardiff Crown Court on April 6.
