Welsh Language Music Day or Dydd Miwsig Cymru is now in its third year.

The day was created to celebrate Welsh language music of all genres.

Free gigs are taking place across Wales and there are even venues in Budapest and New York that are joining in with the celebrations.

An all-day event is taking place on Cardiff's Womanby Street with artists including folk musician Gentle Good and grunge band Los Blanco's.

Alys Williams, who was mentored by Tom Jones on The Voice, will be performing at Clwb Ifor Bach.

The music streaming service Spotify has revealed that 1.3m hours of music by artists with Welsh language material was listened to in 2017.

Six playlists including Acoustic, Electronica, Campfire Sing Song, Chill Out, Workout and Legends will be available on Spotify and Apple Music to mark the day.

Some artists on the playlists include the Super Furry Animals, Gwenno and Meic Stevens.
