Team of Welsh Ambulance Service medics give first aid training to hundreds of people in India
A team of Welsh Ambulance Service medics have been teaching lifesaving first aid training to hundreds of people in India.
They were joined by colleagues from the London and South Western Ambulance Services and London Fire Brigade, sharing their knowledge with staff and schoolchildren at two training sites.
The training visit included a visit to the Golden Temple in Amritsar, where the team trained over 160 temple staff, as well as teaching staff and children at St Mary’s English School and the Little Flower School in Jamshedpur.
The team was led by veteran paramedic Dennis Moss, who retired from the Welsh Ambulance Service last year after 41 years of service, and is now the Trust’s Equality and Diversity Inclusion Ambassador.
Following their return, they were awarded the Charity Challenge Team award by the Asian Fire Service Association.
The trip was made possible by support from the public, the Welsh Ambulance Service, the Asian Fire Service Association and the Sikh Channel.
