More than 20 firefighters tackle blaze in Cynon Valley
An investigation is underway into a fire in the early hours this morning in the Cynon Valley.
Firefighters were called out to Gamlyn Terrace in Hirwaun just before 3am. The fire started in the first floor and roof space of the building. It spread to four neighbouring properties.
A total of 10 properties were evacuated as a precaution and people were looked after by the British Red Cross – Fire Emergency Support Service and neighbours.
Fire officers rescued one casualty performing CPR outside the property. The casualty was taken to hospital and is reported to be in a critical but stable condition.
