Wales rugby star George North has announced his engagement to Olympic cyclist Becky James.

The news came on Wednesday after the couple shared a picture on Instagram in celebration.

Becky James said in a post: "December has been the BEST!!! I’m the luckiest girl in the World to have this man in my life. I can’t wait to marry my best friend. I love you"

25-year-old George North shared a picture of the couple on social media saying "December. What a decent month. Santa has come but more importantly my dearest ReBecky said yes."
