'Iechyd da' Prime Minister! Theresa May chooses Welsh whisky as favourite tipple

Theresa May has named a Welsh whisky as her favourite Christmas drink.

The Prime Minister was among senior politicians who picked a festive tipple for the website Politico.

She said she was planning to enjoy a glass of Penderyn, distilled in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons, on "those (hopefully) quiet winter evenings over the holidays".

Teetotal Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said he would be drinking apple juice "like most days", adding: "On Christmas Day, I make sure it's a particularly good one."

Liberal Democrat leader Sir Vince Cable said he would also initially be sticking to apple juice as he has his first Christmas drink with some children in care, but will later have a rum and coke while watching the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special.
