New calls for independent Carl Sargeant inquiries
The Welsh Conservative leader has written to the First Minister and Wales' top civil servant calling for independent inquiries into matters surrounding the death of Carl Sargeant.
In his letters, Andrew RT Davies urges the First Minister to go further than he did in his statement yesterday and commit to an independent inquiry into the handling of allegations against the former Communities Secretary.
He also calls for an 'impartial third party' to be asked to investigate allegations made by the former Education Minister Leighton Andrews that a culture of bullying existed in the Welsh Government in previous years.
You can see both letters below.
The Conservative leader is not alone in his calls for an independent inquiry into the handling of allegations against Carl Sargeant. Labour MP for Wrexham, Ian Lucas, has also written to the First Minister saying that he doesn't believe a Coroner's inquest will be enough to answer the questions that he has.
