Investigation underway after elderly woman dies in house fire

An elderly woman has died in a house fire in Blaenau Ffestiniog.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said crews were called to a house in Benar View shortly after 8.30pm last night.

It confirmed the fire was brought under control but an elderly resident had died at the scene.

The fire is not thought to be suspicious.

Emergency services will remain at the scene today while a full investigation is carried out.
