A man who taunted police on their own Facebook page that they couldn't catch him has been jailed.

Martin Tate, 31, of Caernarfon, Gwynedd, admitted several offences including assaulting his partner.

He appeared before Caernarfon Magistrates Court today and was jailed for five months.

Tate was warned by officers on the social media site who said "you can run but you can’t hide" -to which he responded by posting, ”see who has the last laugh now.”

But the force told him, ”see you soon.”

After the sentencing DC Dave Jones at Caernarfon CID said, “I’d like to acknowledge the public’s help in locating and arresting Tate.

"It’s reassuring to know that together with our communities we’ll ensure prolific offenders face justice.”
