Health Secretary walks away from questions over calls for inquiry into health board's actions

The Health Secretary has walked away from questions over calls for an inquiry into Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board's actions around former employee, Kris Wade.

ITV Wales was interviewing Vaughan Gething AM on a different subject but took the opportunity to ask for his response to the calls from the British Medical Association in Wales, Plaid Cymru and Welsh Conservatives, that an inquiry was needed.

He initially responded by saying there was no need for a public inquiry but walked away after ITV Wales tried to ask more questions.

Watch the exchange with James Crichton-Smith below.

It comes after an internal review was published by the health board which showed it failed to robustly follow procedures around Kris Wade's employment and allegations made against him that he sexually assaulted vulnerable patients.
