Sixth formers share the stories of Passchendaele soldiers
A group of sixth formers from St Cyres School in the Vale of Glamorgan have been finding out about the personal stories of some of the soldiers who fought in the Battle of Passchendaele.
The project was carried out ahead of their visit to the Welsh Memorial Park in Langemark, near Ypres, to remember the battle and the sacrifices made by those who fought.
Head Girl Jesse Baker has been looking into the story of Samuel George Pearse VC, who won the military medal at Passchendaele.

Chelsea George researched the actions of Reginald Rees Jones, who stormed a German blockhouse before dying of his wounds.
Chelsea said, 'it was very eye-opening to be able to study someone like this who just fought so bravely despite the conditions that he was in.
