Cardiff landlord fined over £4,000 for 'dangerous failings'

A landlord has been fined over £4,000 at Cardiff Magistrates Court after pleading guilty to eight charges relating to a rented student property in Albany Road, Cardiff.

The court heard how tenants living in the five bedroom student house had complained to the Council about the condition of the property, fearing for their safety.

Council officers inspected the property and identified a number of 'dangerous failings'.

Spiridian Micallef from Sully Road in Penarth was ordered to pay a fine of £4,664 as well as £200 in costs and a victim surcharge of £100.
