British Transport Police praise boy, 5, after mother is racially abused on train

British Transport Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to after a woman and her son were racially abused on a train to Cardiff.

The woman, who is 32, and her five-year-old son, were shouted at as they arrived into Cardiff Central station and boarded the train to Cadoxton on Monday 8 May.

As they arrived into the station, detectives say the mother spoke to her son in her mother tongue and it was at this point, a man began to shout racial abuse towards them.

The man continued to abuse the mother and boy until they were outside the station.

Fearful that his mother was about to be assaulted, the young boy stood between his mother and the man and asked him to leave him and his mother alone.
