Severe depression: 'every opportunity I had I would just cry'

Laura Moulding is a student from South Wales.

She's been diagnosed with severe depression with psychotic symptoms.

Part of her diagnosis means she has low moods and sometimes hears voices.

Here's her story.

  • Severe depression is characterized by a persistent feeling of sadness or a lack of interest in outside stimuli

  • It is a diagnosis more commonly associated women

  • Psychotic symptoms can include; hallucinations, delusion confused and disturbed thoughts and lack of insight and self-awareness

  • Severe depression also has physical symptoms such as fatigue and a change in weight
