People in Wales are the least green-fingered in the UK
People living in Wales are the least green-fingered in the UK, according to new research.
Herbal sweet makers Ricola say one in ten Welsh people haven't gardened for over a year.
The research shows over two thirds of us use our gardens for fun instead of growing plants and flowers, preferring to get outdoors for barbeques, sunbathing or to enjoy time with family.
Those who do garden tend to prefer growing flowers to fruit or vegetable, though almost one in three do grow herbs for cooking with.
To encourage people to garden more, Ricola are launching a touring herb garden, where the public can get advice on how to make the most of small spaces, and how herbs can be introduce people to gardening.
