Flintshire underwear thief faces two-and-a-half years in jail

A court has heard how a man twice broke into a woman’s home to steal her underwear – and in-between the burglaries sent her a Facebook “friend” request.

Caernarfon crown court heard this as fast-food restaurant worker John Sillah, 20, of Buckley, Flintshire, was locked up for two-and-a-half years.

Judge David Hale told Sillah he had pleaded guilty to four house burglaries and one attempt, and a 2012 offence was considered.

In April he had broken into a woman’s Buckley home.

Also on Christmas Day, he had burgled homes at Mold. A young woman had been out when Sillah rifled through her underwear drawer. Along the same road at 2.20am a man was awoken by Sillah standing at the foot of his bed. The defendant fled with the householder’s coat.

The prosecutor said Sillah told police he was walking home when he decided to break into houses to steal women’s underwear for his own sexual gratification.
